splash long haul decoy bag

My buddies and I use a sled to haul in and out all our stuff in South Dakota. That bag is definitely high up on my list of possibilities. Pretty similar here. You aren't supposed to cut anything, even a branch that is blocking your tree stand. And, when it floods even a little, it floats so easy through the whole thing. Use of this site constitutes acceptance of our User Agreement and Privacy Policy. It actually slides really easy on grass and can hold a ton of stuff. Welcome to Reddit, the front page of the internet. Does this bag have a built-in way to attach it to a tree? Straps are padded and it is very comfortable to carry. Gloves, face mask, two boxes of shells, snacks, water, calls, flashlights, etc.

I have been using a fanny pack that doubles as my bowhunting pack, but I am looking to upgrade to a full time waterfowl bag.

I have heard mixed reviews on the longevity of Banded products.

I used it all last season. Happy to answer any other questions you have. I've been looking for a decent cargo net to fit mine as a couple times I've dropped items and when I'm by myself that could be a lot of trouble. It's pretty simple, but it works well. But its a pretty specific pack, so we use it if we're taking mojos somewhere, but otherwise it just holds mojo gear for storage in the shop. The exterior straps make good tie-down points for other gear too. I wish something like this would work where I typically hunt. I would guess they'll have some before duck season rolls around. Then you just float it along behind you. Any favorites? It had a strap that can buckle around your waist and on across your chest on the shoulder straps. Regarding the jet sled, I mentioned in a previous comment that a buddy of mine bought one a couple years ago. I also use this backpack - it is about x more comfy than cheaper mesh decoy bags and the shotgun sleeve is awesome- I can go hands free easily. I have the Mojo backpack as well and its great for storing and hauling mojos, since it has a bunch of purpose built pockets for the batteries, wings, stakes, and bodies. I have 2 of them- when I hunt with a buddy or 2, we'll each have a pack and divide the load so an otherwise long slog turns into a stroll. It also sounds like you could benefit from a jet sled. Medium size will hold 2 dozen decoys, your bag and your gun. I pull the sled behind me through the woods. Submit a new text post. It will easily hold 3 mini mojos and all their accessories. On grass and mud it is very easy. I have two hard seasons on it so far hunting everything from diver ducks on lake Erie in late December in ice storms to muddy fields in Arkansas to waist deep flooded crops. But with anything less than several inches of water, we repeatedly almost capsized it in the dark from hitting cypress knees or trying to avoid them. Seems like something that would be useful, but I have seen very few bags that have it. So I also do a lot of walk-in hunts and I have a dedicated blind bag that I really like. He always caught me. I think this might be the way I end up going. Quality is good and the waist strap helps balance the weight out. Something I didn't mention in my previous comment At any rate, I love the concept of the sled, but I just haven't found it that useful for the areas I normally hunt. If there is enough water to float the sled, it seems to be fine. Ammo, food, small stuff in the backpack. A Jet Sled or Beavertail sled is also a huge help. Submit a new link. Auger great quality. I also like this backpack - its basically a heavy duty dry bag with backpack straps and some extra pockets sewn on. We have so many cypress knees though, the one time we tried to use it we nearly dumped the entire thing in the dark more times than I can count. I will take a look at both packs you mentioned. Mine was a life saver in the swamp and flooded crops this year. But, its a little cumbersome on longer walks. Anybody here have any experience with the Tanglefree Go-To bag? Waterfowl submitted 2 years ago by 30dlo. Its big enough to fit at least 2 dozen decoys and my waders. Decoys, chair, gunβ€”all goes in the sled. Its totally waterproof with a hard bottom, plenty of pockets, and spacious for fitting multiple thermoses of midnight black coffee. I thought they were silly until I tried one. I have the Cabela's northern flight "locked up" bag I believe it's called. Yea I noticed that too. Sometimes we walk to 1, yards through fairly thick cypress swamps to get to a hole. Using a sled was my major innovation this year. About x more comfy than shitty mesh bags. Seems like something I would like, coming from years of fanny pack use, but they have been out of stock for a while. Cutting a path through hundreds of cypress knees would probably attract a lot of attention that I don't want. Want to add to the discussion? I could always bring a timber strap with hooks. I tried to switch our bags several times. Get an ad-free experience with special benefits, and directly support Reddit. I think Amazon has some and possible some other retailers but I'm not completely sure. I will check out that bag. I typically walk 1 or 2 miles and the mesh decoy bag slung over my back is a pain. What do you look for in a pack? Its big enough to hold all "blind bag" stuff you could possibly need and it will stay dry. You need this. Its only drawback is that it is huge and has a mesh bottom so water drains out when you fill it with wet decoys , so it won't really protect calls, shellboxes, or other things you might bring. The only problem was that we have so many cypress knees in the swamps we hunt. All rights reserved. I have a Jet Sled that is super useful for hauling decoys and heavy stuff- we use this a lot. Post a comment! Want to join? I hunt mostly public land, so no. I have seen plenty of backpacks with gun holders, but that may be the first decoy bag. Create an account. Good to know. The Sitka timber pack might be exactly what you are looking for. What are some features that you wish your current pack had? Plus I hate to spend that kind of money on a bag and then not like it. You could probably get creative and do it depending on the size of the tree. I would be very interested in hearing answers to this. It looks like a standard blind bag but has a strap system that turns it into a back pack style bag. A buddy of mine has one. Though it isn't exactly what I am looking for right now, I really like that long haul decoy bag. I typically hike in to hunt flooded timber, so I am not really looking for a standard blind bag, though it may occasionally be used in that capacity.
